My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book and the story that is very well written and is in some case uniqueue, or at least I havent read book with some of the elements of it. I dont want to give any spoilers so Im not gonna say more.

The characters are very well created and feels real. The main character is Ryder and I must confess I dont like her, she is a 17 year old spoild girl and one day things gets taken away from her and instead of growing up, she starts moaning and blaming the world. But sure she grows a little bit on me but most of the time I get so annoyed and she I really hates the way she acts. I screamed at my phone while reading it because I really felt she was stupid.

The main story itself isnt unique and I have read tones of similar stories. A love story about a girl and 2 guys and she dont know who to choose. Sounds familiar? just like that I can name at least 2 huge books that has become movies or TV shows. Parts of it felt like it was a bit of copy cat from other work like The Twilight Saga and Vampire Diaries. Even if it is inspired from that, I dont know, but its is still delievered in a good way and in a way that makes it different from above mentioned books/moviestv shows...

The language is good but I have read better from this author, and I know this is her first published novel and for being that, its good job but I do want more from it. This book is for young adults and I think it is very noticable but still there is no problem reading it as an adult. I am an adult reading and enjoying the book.

It is very hard to put down the book when you have started reading it and that is a good thing. I like books that has a natural good flow in them. The length of the book is perfect and I wouldnt add anything to this, the first book in the seriest or even take anything away from it.

I can recommend the book. It is very nice and the story is good. I cant give the book 5 stars because I feel there is something missing in it, and it is to similar to other work. But still a very readable and enjoyable book that I really can recommend to other, both adults and young adults.

A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets - James Bowen (book review)

I bought this book for my mom for christmas a few years back and I thought it was time for me to read it and review it

Story
When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet.
Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas.
Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts.
A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting story that will touch the heart of anyone who reads it.

My thoughts
This book is a true story of a person who is recover from heroin addiction. this shows very well in the book and sure the book isnt the most well written book I have read but you have to see it for what it is. Its a story about how a cat could save one mans life. The language here is good but not excellent but that is also one of the strong points about this book because it feels real. A super well written book with good naratives and a lot of action would make the book less real and more like fiction. This is not fiction.

There is a lot going on in the story and still the story is very calm at the same time and that is someting I think you have to get used to when reading it. There will not be a lot of information about his addiction and how it felt and horrible stuff that a lot of people are looking for in books, because this book isnt about James addiction, its about his way to recovery and sure he thoughs the subject of drugs and how it felt but its not vivid explanations about how he got high and how it felt.

I enjoyed reading this book and I enjoy Bob. He is smart but then again he is a cat. I wouldnt say that he is the smartest or most uniqueue cat out there but there is something special about him. I have had cats and they have all been special and have some traits Bob has, and some he dont and he has something that they dont have. That is how it is. What I find so special about Bob the cat is how loyal he is. he has some traits that I find in dogs and not in any of the cats I have had.

This story is not for everyone and I have seen everything from bad reviews about how fake, badly written and even pet abuse to words of love and admiration. I admire James and Bob and I am happy they meet and got a chance to read this book. this is a fell good book that I enjoyed a lot. I know a lot of people will find hope in this book. I love how it shows how a singel animal, a pet, can chance the life of a person, and it does matter if you are a homeless drug addict trying to recover or the riches man in the world. The pet loves you and are there for you.

This book also put the lights on how it is to be homeless and how we as society can help and should help. We have all seen people that are homeless stand and sell the magazine and a lot of us have walked by without even looking and sometimes thinking that we will not sponsor their addiction. After reading this book, things like that get put in a different light and its not sponsoring an addiction, its about sponoring someone who wants to change their lives. I now stop and help, and buy the magazine whenever I can. I have done so in my home country, and in the country where I love even I dont speak the langauge. why? I want to help and give someone hope and this book has helped me to see that.

This book is now a few years old but thiss, the topic is very real and maybe even more important today than every. It is a good book and a lot of people can read it, everything from young adults to adults. The language makes it easy access and it gives hope.

Eragon (Inheritance, Book 1) - Christopher Paolini( (book revirew)

Okay my life is officially hectic at this moment so reading for pleasure is not something I can do as freely and much as I want to... This is a shame but that is life. but now here are another book review and I have read this book before but only in my native language Swedish but now I read it in english so this review is about the English book.

Buy it as paperback here
Buy it as ebook here
Buy it as hard cover here

Story
Fifteen-year-old Eragon believes that he is merely a poor farm boy—until his destiny as a Dragon Rider is revealed. Gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

My Thoughts
I must say that I really enjoyed reading this book in the original language now years after I read it in Swedish.  When I read it the first time i was younger and liked it and this is a book for Young adults written by a 15 year old with hopes and dreams. This makes the book different from other fantasy books. I know a lot of people would say this is not the class of Lord of the Rings and David Eddings works and that is true but this book has never tried to be that either. The way it is written is very well with a good language that is perfect for the taget audience. The storyline is not straight and boring, it is dynamic with a lot of things going on and we get to learn a lot about what happened before our story took place.

When you read fantasy you have to learn that it is a lot of the same in a lot of books and if you dont follow the rules you will get disliked. I as a reader dont give a crap about all this and I dont give a book a bad review because that is what is expected. I know a lot of fantasy lover hates this book and see it as childish. I dont. The story is very interesting and there are things happening with calmer episodes. I like the mix between naive young Eragon and his older teacher and how they learn and try to chance the world and themselves. Eragon is Naive but he is 16 and his life has turned up side down. I think he deals with that better than most people do when things chance.

The story is so well written and you can see that it leads somewhere and somethimes you question thing and decision and sometimes you laugh and sometimes you just hate what is happening and I myself cry in parts of thid book and feel discusted but that is what I want from a book and thinking about that a 15 year old wrote it, makes it even more awesome.  I really liked this book and the entire story and the world. some young adult fantays is far from this awesome and sure it dont have the edges and the things that the more adult fantasy writers have, this is still awesome and I will not comapre a young adult fantasy book with for examples Lord of the Rings. I give my 5 start to this book because I can place it where it belongs and comapre it to other young adult fantasy books.

I can really recomment Eragon and I cant wait to start the second book in the series.

50 shades of Grey - E. L. James (Book review)

So I have worked as a nursing assistent before and it was so much talk about 50 Shades of Grey and How awesome it was so I finally decided to read it.

Story
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

My Thoughts
Okay, WTF is this? This book was horrible, how it is written and the story line itself. I know a lot about the BDSM life and this book, its just bullshit. The author clearly have no clue what she is talking about and she makes the BDSM world look really bad. this is a huge insult to people living the life and know what it is about. This book make it very dangerous, because it gives the wrong idea about it. also when we skip BDSM, Do you want to be treated like Ana or have your daugther treated like that? I didnt think so.... Grey is a evil dangerous person who only wants to controll. He is manipulative and if he wasnt rich it wouldbe be so "romatinc" as a lot of people think.

There is a lot of sex in it but its always the same. Nothing new, always the same boring stuff mixed with a lot of imagination of what BDSM really is.

The story itself is very thing and boring. I am surprised I even manage to finish book one. I was so bored. And I regret finishing it because it was really a waste of time. I know this is fan fiction of Twilight and I enjoyed Twilight as books even if I also have my thoughts about how the dynamic of the relationship is, but Twilight is a good written book with a readable storyline. This book really hasnt. I know a lot of people gonna hate me for this review but I just express my views and opinions, my right.

I dont understand how anyone can read this rubbish because that is what it is. If anyone thinks this is somewhat close to a real BDSM relationship, you are wrong. Also all the mistakes when it comes to spelling and grammar in this book is bad. has there been any checking before it went to print?

No I dont think I have a good word to stay about this "book". I have, somehow, manage to read first book and it took me weeks. I will never read it again or any other book in the series or written by this author. When you have this much mistakes and try to get into a world you dont know anything about you do research, which is missing for this book. The best thing this book can do is to work as a doorstop or maybe be used to light a fire.

Spicy Christmas Kisses: 11 Romances to Heat Up Your Holidays (Book review)

I have had so much to do and work is plenty and more will come but I have also been reading but not putting up reviews as I should so I will try to make some for the rest of the week. I will start with a bundle I got from one of the author, Rachelle Ayaa  for an honest review. I have reviewed a few of the novels before on this blog so I will not say to much about each individual story but more about the bundle itself.

You can buy the bundle here

This bundle contains 11 very well written, hot and spicy Christmas stories about love. The storyline is different even if they have similarity but so do all books you read in one way or another. The 11 authors of this bundle have done an amazing job when it comes to writing the stories because they have very well written story lines. You can follow the story and get to know the different characters each story have. You have a beginning and an end. What I do like is that they are not to short. A lot of bundles contains very short stories and sometimes its just a teaser for bigger work the authors do. That is not the case here. Every story is a book in itself and you can feel that while reading. This makes the bundle awesome and worth its money. You dont get 11 short, almost unfinished stories, you get 11 good, well written stories that makes you happy.

I dont love all the stories in this bundle. There are a few that, I cant relate to, but I still enjoyed reading them because they are good and the storyline is good, they where just not what I wanted. Maybe it is due to age or other things in my life vs. the characters life and story that made it hard for me to relate. Also it is impossible to love every story you read no matter how well written they are. Even if I didnt love all the stories I give this bundle a good review and 4 out of 5 stars because it really deserve it. This is a an awesome bundle with 11 awesome stories that is perfect now when christmas is getting closer. You do get a lot of christmas spirit and feeling when reading it so this is just perfect.

I can really recommend this bundle to everyone who wants some hot, spicy christmas stories that are well written and have good story lines.
