Brooklyn Blues - by R.E. Hargrave (Audio book review)

One of my favourite books are now available as audio book and I got it for an honest review and here is my honest review. You can find the first review of the (e-book/print book) here. I will in this review focus on the audio version.

By day, Brooklyn Crenshaw goes to work and does her job. She’s a working girl who follows orders and stays off the radar. Oh, and she might have a crush on William K. Baxter from across the hall. Each time she passes his office—with his polished name plate on the window—her gut clenches with desire at the sight of him. But he never looks up, can't possibly know who she is, and even if he did, her needs would send him running. Because they always ran.

At night, in private, she turns on her laptop so that her Sir can turn her on. Brooklyn’s never seen His face, but she knows His voice and the magic of His words. The arrangement works for her. Mostly.

As the office holiday party approaches, Brooklyn starts receiving Secret Santa gifts which suggest more than casual interest, Sir reveals his fondness for exhibition and voyeurism, and William K. Baxter finally looks up at her, and waves.

Brooklyn begins to question everything. Does she continue to follow the orders of a man who hides behind technology, but is always there, or does she take a chance on the man right in front of her who’s seen her at long last? Then there is the Secret Santa who seems to know what makes Brooklyn tick. So many decisions.

‘Tis the season… to be kinky.

My Thoughts about the audio version
So you all know I just LOVE LOVE LOVE, this book and I bought it as a paperback. It is just so lovely. When I saw it was gonna be an audio book I knew I needed it and I was happy to get it for an honest review.

A lot of shorter novells and books do great as audio book while others don't. This one did AWESOME. It is 2 hours 13 minutes long. This makes it perfect for travel, or for just some alone time home. I listen to mine home and I did it in one sitting. I was relaxing while my husband where playing a game. We where both in our own worlds.

The narrators for the story are perfect and they captured Brooklyn and Sir perfectly and game them life in the most perfect way. They manage to get the feeling going off both the book, the subject, the characters and the festive holiday season. The BDSM and how Brooklyn feels and explore it is done perfectly with the voice acting.

This was a Christmas in July for me and I do not regret listening to this book. I will do it again and again just as I will read the book again and again. It gives holiday feeling and it is sexy enough and hot enough and do not overdo the BDSM and it all feels real.

A book can be destroyed with the wrong voice actors and people who cant get the feeling into it while doing the voice acting. This is something, I unfortunately feel way to often with both Swedish and American voice acting in book, and something Japanese voice actors nail, so I am really happy the voice acting for this book is so good as it is. This is now, just not only one of my favourite books, it is also one of my favorite audio books.
